ABOUT

One Man Band Films Inc. is a Montreal-based company founded by multiple award-winning filmmaker Christos Sourligas. The company’s three (3) main objectives are to: 1) develop, 2) produce, and 3) assist in the distribution of market-driven films and television series.

OMBF’s first feature film was a romantic comedy entitled Elephant Shoes, which proved to be the darling of the film festival circuit, selling out screenings, and winning awards worldwide. The romantic comedy was described as a “sleeper hit”, a “festival crowd-pleaser”, and “inspirational”. OMBF successfully licensed Elephant Shoes to Entertainment One making more than twenty (20) times its money back.

Its second feature film Happy Slapping, was the world’s first feature film shot entirely on smartphones. The film made international headlines during its World Premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival, most notably being covered by The Hollywood Reporter, Playback, National Post, and the Journal de Montréal. Telefilm Canada is a producing partner. Video Services Corp. is the North American distributor, and Cinemavault Releasing owns the international rights.

OMBF, in concert with others, is currently developing two (2) highly-commercial feature films, three (3) television series, a cookbook, plus a romantic fantasy novel. As well, the company is tirelessly creating, developing, packaging and selling film and television projects for several third parties. OMBF has a reasonable war chest for future financing of projects, and seeks other investors through public and corporate film and television funding agencies, as well, through private investors, broadcasters and distributors.

OMBF is well-positioned to effectively export market-driven feature films to international film festivals and markets. Point of fact, Sourligas has worked twenty (20) years as a television series distributor for various large to medium-sized production companies specializing mainly in comedy. He regularly attends national and international television sales conferences and markets.
